This auction is for a Toshiba Qosmio X70-B which i have refurbished. This is not a used laptop, it was broken out of the box, acquired as a non-returnable gift and so had never ever been run before. The motherboard was defective so it has been replaced with a new one. The computer is otherwise immaculate. Original RRP before it was discontinued around October 2016 was $3600-4000AUD, some places still carry it for a bit over $4000. Personally i think about $3200 is what its worth (new) assuming shipping is included, all X70s are practically identical and paying extra for peripherals is pointless. However it should be noted that an X70 is about as customizable as, really any other desktop computer, minus the laptop LCD, i think even the speakers and Ethernet driver can be customized. I use another X70-A as my main computer and never really found it neccesary to move to a desktop with it until an unfortunate accident and i was forced to. They are significantly faster than most other laptops with the same specs, and even runs faster than some of the new ultra thin built laptops that use 900 and 1000 series GTX nvidia cards, because unlike those, the X70 uses a properly clocked GPU which is able to use exactly as much power as it is designed to run with, thanks to the powerful cooling capabilities, although it still is no replacement for a desktop, but it is a really really good substitute. To simplify, this laptop with its huge screen and powerful CPU/GPU is a fully capable gaming computer, even though laptops generally dont game that well, this one does. It is designed to game and last a long time doing it ( as in not wear out and fail). I ran mine almost non stop for over 2 years in the tropics and it never slowed down or broke down. The only drawback is that it quickly burns through the battery, even though it has a massive capacity. There are plenty of utilities and options though to make it really last for general use on the go. you can get over an hour or 2, or 3. Some of the protective plastic is still on the laptop and there are only a few minor scuff marks, mostly from moving it around or placing it upside down during the repair. Nothing that you wont do to it every time you take it somewhere. The screen is perfect, everything works and is all good. If necessary i can provide information for future repairs or upgrades, although its all pretty easy and just uses common sense. Mostly you just need to know that the SSD and 2 of the 4 ram sticks are located on the other side of the computer. I do offer returns although only with good reason. Laptop comes with power supply and possibly (not guaranteed) a still valid norton installation disk. On request i can make a partition on one of the hard drives with a clone of the current OS as a recovery backup that can in a sense be simply dragged and dropped onto the SSD incase of faliure, or just directly booted from if the partition is renamed (all very easy stuff, or quickly doable by a PC repair guy or tech savy friend). I am open to bartering, i will take a still working laptop with an i5, though no hard drive is necessary, in place of $400 or so on the price. No HP computers though. $1000 off if you have a broken/dying or working wacom 24HD or HD touch, or a similar large wacom monitor, contact me about trades.
